Scottish Country Dancing will start again at the Paissandu Club in April 2010
The St Andrew Society of Rio de Janeiro’s final event of the year - the Caledonian Ball - was held in the Copacabana Palace Hotel in October.
In order to have the maximum number of people dancing to Iain McPhails Country Dance Band, imported specially from Scotland for the occasion, practice sessions were held every week from April at the Paissandu Club, where Audrey Hieatt and Robin Brown taught the steps to the reels, waltzes etc.
After the Ball and the Ceilidh at the Paissandu and in Macaé, dancing activities are now suspended until April 2010, when classes will again start at the Paissandu Club.
Classes/practice starts at 7.30pm Every Tuesday from April 7.
