The St Andrew Society of Rio de Janeiro’s final event of the year - the Caledonian Ball - will be held in the Copacabana Palace Hotel in October 2010.

In order to have the maximum number of people dancing to Iain McPhails Country Dance Band, imported specially from Scotland for the occasion, practice sessions are being held every week at the Paissandu Club, where Audrey Hieatt and Robin Brown teach the steps to the reels, waltzes etc.

Classes/practice starts at 7.30pm Every Tuesday from April 6.
