The Botequim restaurant is right at the end of the Rua Visconde Caravelas, at No. 184, in Botafogo. You can turn in to the Visconde de Caravelas from the Real Grandeza. The restaurant is very cozy, comfortable and not touristy - it is very popular with local business people as it specializes in Brazilian dishes.
The most popular Brazilian dish is of course the “feijoada”, a black bean stew made with various cuts of pork, including ears and trotters! (you can choose your cuts of meat). Another favourite is “Picadinho” which is chopped or minced meat in a sauce on rice. There are many other choices, washed down with delicious caipirinhas or cold beer.
